4 apples, peeled and sliced
3 tbsp butter
⅓ c granulated sugar
1 tbsp Cinnamon
1 tsp Nutmeg
1 tsp Lemon Juice
3 ½ c All purpose flour
½ tsp Kosher Salt
1 ½ c butter, cold, cut into cubes
¼ water, cold
Combine the sugar, cinnamon, and nutmeg and set aside.
Place flour and kosher salt in a food processor and pulse. Add the butter and pulse until “cornmeal” consistency.
Add the water and pulse until the dough comes together. (If the dough is too dry add more water 1 tbsp at a time until it is soft and workable)
Roll the dough into a circle a 1/4 inch thick on a lightly floured surface.
Place the crust on a sheet pan.
Combine the apples, sugar, spices, 3 tbsp butter and lemon juice.
Place the apples into the center of the dough leaving 1 to 1 1/2 inch around the edge.
Brush the edge of the dough with water and fold around the apples.
Bake at 350 degrees for approx. 40 min.
